The popular home store Ikea has been the rage for bargain shoppers for several years now, living in Minnesota I was brave enough to venture into the Ikea store about three months after it opened near the Mall of America. While great deals can be had I found the store every crowded, so much so that “shopping” just was not that enjoyable.
Regardless those living in Ohio have high hopes the home retailer will open a store soon near them, recent rumors have been spreading and shoppers in the area are excited about the possibilities. One resident from Ohio said, “We here in Dayton are peeing our collective pants waiting for the IKEA announcement.”
The Swedish home and furniture store has only 28 stores throught America, it’s just not enough with some people living hundreds of miles away from the nearest outlet. While catalog shopping would usually fill the void Ikea has a few tricky rules regarding their mail order catalog:
- Customers must log into their website and request a catalog yearly
- Customers requesting a catalog must live with 250 miles of a store to be sent a catalog
Some shoppers have gone to great lengths to get these catalogs that live outside the 250 mile mark have even paid money for them on e-bay! Hopefully the idea home store will open in Ohio and residences of the area will have an easier time!
